My martial arts training started
later in my life. I was 37 years
old with a wife and 2 children. We
all started our training together at
Kreimer’s Karate to get back into
better shape. Out of the 4 of us, I
am the only one who has continued
the training. My wife and children
received their Brown belts and I am
currently a Sr. Brown belt preparing
for my Black Belt. After years of
training, martial arts has become a
major part of my life.
When instructing, I emphasize the
basics – stances, blocks, kicks and
strikes. I believe that without a
solid foundation in the
fundamentals, real advancement as a
martial artist is not possible.
My martial arts training have
made me a much stronger and
confident person due to the blends
of physical, mental and spiritual
aspects. It is clear to those
observing that I have a passion for
working with students of all ages.
I love working with the Lil Dragons
who range in age from 3 to 6. I get
down on the floor with them and help
them learn their basic karate
techniques, colors, numbers, and
left from right while also working
on how to move their bodies and
focus their minds.
When working with the older
students, young adults and those
students more my age, I tend to use
teaching methods to match the skills
and abilities of those individuals
in class.
I believe that my martial arts
training is a life long journey and
it is a journey that I am looking
forward to for many more years to
come. |
